Cavaye Yeguié Succession: Paul Biya officially introduces hostilities

One week before the start of the new parliamentary term after the renewal of the lower house, the irremovable outgoing president is, according to his relatives, between life and death in a hospital in the West.

The name of Cavaye Yeguié Djibril is on the list of 167 candidates proclaimed elected after the legislative elections of February 09, 2020. But, unless the situation turns around at the last moment, the elected CPDM from the electoral district of Mayo-Sava , in the Far North Region, will respond to absent subscribers on Tuesday March 10, 2020 in Yaoundé during the full session of the National Assembly. The irremovable president of the lower house is on medical evacuation in Europe. And according to his relatives, his state of health is not improving.

“He has been in intensive care for about three weeks. He was dying when we left Cameroon with him. Some close to the PAN put pressure on his doctors, asking if it was possible to allow him to return to Cameroon, the time to be re-elected President of the Assembly. That way, he could return for further treatment. So far, he is still very bad, ”says a source close to the family of the third personality of the Republic.

Well aware of the situation in Cavaye Yeguié Djibril, the Head of State, national president of the CPDM, has already given instructions to certain officials of the Central Committee of the CPDM for the preparation of the succession of the 80-year-old man to the perch of the National Assembly for 28 years. “President Paul Biya has not yet taken a name out of his hat. We are all waiting, ”said a source in the ruling party.

There is no doubt that the deputy who will be elected next week as head of the office of national representation, will leave the ranks of the CPDM, the political party which enjoys an overwhelming majority in the National Assembly.
