Assassination attempt on Kamto: 4 MRC activists summoned by security

Last Friday afternoon, an incident pitted the Mouvement pour la renaissance du Cameroun (MRC), against a gendarme committed to intelligence, following the passage in Garoua (region of North Cameroon) of Maurice Kamto, president of the MRC.

Among the four members of the MRC convened yesterday Tuesday by the legion of the northern gendarmerie, we find: Alain Fogue the national treasurer of the party, Médard Sosthene Lipot the national secretary for Communication, Awasum Mispa the president of the National Coordination of Women, as well as another member of the MRC more or less known to the media.

The Cameroonian government and the MRC reject responsibility for the incident last Friday. The MRC speaks of "assassination attempt" against Maurice Kamto, while the Cameroonian government accuses the MRC of "violence against a gendarme on an intelligence mission".

Strongly that the investigations are objective and impartial, so that this case which gives rise to a game of ping pong between the MRC and the regime of Yaoundé, is definitively cleared up.
