Anglophone Crisis: the great victory of Paul Biya

The recent official position of the members of the Security Council of the United Nations Organization (UN) sounds like a scathing disavowal of the separatists who sow desolation and death in the North West and South West regions. This is to the credit of a discreet and effective diplomacy of President Paul Biya.

President Paul Biya works wherever he is for the smooth running of state affairs. Absent from radar while staying in his native village in Mvomeka'a for more than a week, President Paul Biya arrived in the Cameroonian capital last Tuesday. As soon as he arrived in Yaoundé on Wednesday March 4, 2020, he granted an audience to the Palace of Unity, to the French Ambassador to Cameroon, Christophe Guilhou. This, after a controversial exit of the French president, Emmanuel Macron, at the Salon de l'Agriculture in Paris and which had aroused the ire of Cameroonians. Did the audience thus granted to the French diplomat succeed in replacing the chapel of secular relations that Cameroon and France maintain in the center of the village? It can be said without risk of being denied.

In a tweet from President Paul Biya, he said: “The Ambassador and I had a cordial meeting today at the Palace of Unity. On the menu, the relations of cooperation between our two countries, the recent elections, the socio-political situation in the North-West and in the South-West and the next Africa-France summit ”. For the French diplomat, this hearing is also part of the exchange that had the 2 heads of state a few days ago on the phone, as well as the "close relations" and the "continuous reports" that '' maintain Cameroon and France. “We discussed the evolution of the political situation in Cameroon, after the municipal and legislative elections of the past few days. We also discussed the situation in the North West and the South West. In this regard, we discussed the Ngarbuh tragedy and in particular the identification of responsibilities, ”said Christophe Guilhou to the press. What, in the eyes of many observers, had the effect of forgetting the fed-up publicly expressed by Cameroonians in front of the French Embassy in Yaoundé the day after the controversial outing of French President Emmanuel Macron at the Salon d 'Agriculture of Paris. All this, according to certain meticulous observers, is the result of an intense activity led by President Paul Biya even when he is still in his native village in Mvomeka'a. had the effect of forgetting the ras-le-bol publicly expressed by Cameroonians in front of the French Embassy in Yaoundé the day after the controversial outing of French President Emmanuel Macron at the Paris Agricultural Show. All this, according to certain meticulous observers, is the result of an intense activity led by President Paul Biya even when he is still in his native village in Mvomeka'a.

Furthermore, the return of the Russian Federation to Cameroon went further by saying no to any form of interference in the management of Cameroon's affairs. In easy French, the 3 members of the UN Security Council speak with one voice, supporting the indivisibility of Cameroon.

On the Washington side, the same story. The Usa are aligned for a one and indivisible Cameroon. And this, through the American secretary of state in charge of African affairs who affirmed: “the last thing that Africa needs, speaking of the separatists, is a new state which will generate poverty and misery. According to the American secretary of state, his country will support a united country and will accompany the transition process more and more to local communities.

What is more, the United States undertakes to support Cameroon in the reconstruction of regions in crisis. And this, for a better implementation of decentralization. A position of the United States which joins that of China which reaffirmed its total support for the Cameroonian authorities and the President of the Republic. Besides on the ground, our observers believe, despite a demonization campaign organized against Cameroon and its army, the situation has improved considerably. This is the case with the Southwest which is rapidly emerging from the specter of violence.

The North West is not far from this perspective. And this, despite some pockets of resistance observed here and there. For these same observers, it is time that Cameroonians turn their backs on the demonization campaigns organized against their country for purely partisan and selfish reasons. Because for these observers, tribalism, withdrawal of identity, conspiracy against republican institutions and the promotion of hatred could not help our country in its quest for emergence. So the question: does the diplomatic battle initiated by President Paul Biya and which is already bearing good fruit augurs a better tomorrow in the North West and South West crisis? We are tempted to smell it. Today, it is a question that the close collaborators of the Head of State play their role to the full to support this dynamic thus stimulated by the Head of State. Understand who will be able… president Paul Biya on Tuesday March 3, 2020 in the city which coincides with the decision of 3 of the 5 members of the Security Council of the United Nations namely China, Russia and especially the Usa, not to lend a listen to the cause of the separatists who turned a political claim into terrorism in the North West and South West regions. Clearly, China, Russia and the United States no longer adhere to the cause of the separatists who transformed a struggle which should have been peaceful into terrorist practices which are the cause of the deaths of thousands of civilians and significant psychological and material damage in the North West and South West regions. Received in audience last Wednesday by Lejeune Mbella Mbella, the Cameroonian Minister of External Relations, Anatholy Bashkin, the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador.
