Anglophone Crisis: fifteen houses set ablaze in Bokossa

Fifteen houses were set on fire in the English-speaking region of the South West on Sunday March 22, 2020.

According to some sources, these are acts originating from separatists. In addition to this material assessment, five people were kidnapped in the process. 

It was in the village of Bokossa located in the department of Meme that an attack was carried out against the inhabitants of this locality in the South-West-West region of Cameroon, on March 22. 

Attack in retaliation

A total of 14 houses were burned down and five people kidnapped, according to testimonies from the populations of this English-speaking area of ​​Cameroon. Some of them claim that it was a retaliatory attack by the separatist fighters. 

A victim reports: “at 6.15 am on Sunday March 22, 2020, I received a call informing me that my whole village was on fire and that villagers had been kidnapped and guess what? My parents' house was among the burnt houses and my mother is one of those who was kidnapped, ”said a witness, speaking on condition of anonymity. 

No claims have yet been registered and the hostages have not yet been released.
