In a tweet, Aimé Cyprien Olinga maintains the boycott was followed throughout the national territory. He even gives a figure. Indeed, for him, less than 25% of voters voted.

“The call for boycott of the elections of February 09, 2020 in Cameroon launched by my party the FDR <>, the MRC and the CPP was a success because very followed on all the extent of the national territory. Less than a quarter of the voters voted, ”Aimé Cyprien Olinga wrote on Twitter.

Cameroonians were called on Sunday February 9 to elect their deputies and their municipal elected officials. According to Elecam figures, 6.8 million were called to the polls.

Yesterday, Minister of Territorial Administration Paul Atanga Nji said the boycott advocated by some was a failure. "The slogan of boycott launched by certain leaders of political parties who, in reality, were afraid to participate in the elections, was completely ignored by the immense majority of Cameroonians," said Paul Atanga Nji.
