Elections 2020: Transparency denounces multiple votes

This organization also mentions the low participation of citizens which can be explained by the loss of confidence in the electoral process.

Contrary to the speech of the Minister of Territorial Administration, Paul Atanga Nji, held on the evening of the double ballot of February 9, 2020, this deadline knew "a weak participation of the citizens". This observation is from Me Henri Ngoh Manga, the president of Transparency international Cameroon (Ti-C). If the organization has not received accreditation despite the request, it has, following the "Parallel vote tabulation (Pvt)", observed the said process in discretion.

In fact, Ti-C has deployed 200 volunteers in the Center, Littoral and South-West regions. According to the first observations collected in the field, it appears that the double ballot was not run beyond the relative serenity in the participation of voters in the vote. "Mixed transparency due to charters, intimidation and multiple voting instigations," writes TI-C. And to add: "a weak participation of the citizens which can be explained by the non withdrawal of the voter cards observed in several polling stations, the lack of enthusiasm to participate in the elections, the loss of confidence in the electoral process, the slogan of boycott of the elections launched by certain political leaders ”.

Transparency international-Cameroon deplored the absence of tellers in some polling stations: "When you agree to participate in a poll, you must be represented in the polling stations," said Henri Ngoh Manga. He adds: "It is the first time that we have been denied accreditation". He did not miss the opportunity to recall the scenario of false observers from the last presidential election.
