Secessionists promise five days of active disruption

The streets of the cities deserted during "Lockdown" operations. The purpose of the maneuver is to prevent the holding of double ballots in the North-West and South-West regions.

The "High Command" of the "Military Forces of Ambazonia" announces five days of operation "Lockdown", on "the whole extent" of the North-West and South-West regions of Cameroon.

This lock-in begins on February 7, two days before the election scheduled on February 9. This operation ends on February 12.

The announcement of the separatist groups in Cameroon specifies that "anyone seen outside of towns and villages will be considered an enemy and treated as such" and that this press release serves as a warning so that the population can take measures to stay safe.

The separatists remind that the legislative elections will not be held in the North-West and South-West regions, despite the assurances of the President of the Republic of Cameroon.

The latter, during his speech to the nation on December 31, 2019, reassured that all security measures will be taken to ensure the proper conduct of the double ballot.
