'Le jour dit' by Paul Biya finally known

The country is ready to host the next edition of the African Cup of Nations which will take place from January 9 to February 6, 2021.

This is what emerges from the visit of a delegation from the African Football Confederation made last week to Cameroon, with its president, Ahmad. Football lovers had a hard time with the Cameroon Cup withdrawal. While in Cameroon on behalf of the CAF inspection visit, Ahmad Ahmad, the president of the apex body wanted to clarify certain things. It is therefore for the purpose of definitively making certain decisions that the Organizing Committee for CAN TOTAL 2021 met on January 15 at the Hilton hotel in Yaoundé. 

On the agenda of this long-awaited meeting, the organization of the African Cup of Nations Cameroon 2021. At the opening of the works, the president of CAF thanked the president of Cameroon, "for the interest that he brings to CAF and the efforts he continues to deploy to ensure the success of this great competition in this country passionate about football ”. In turn, the Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Narcisse Mouelle Kombi, on behalf of the highest state authorities, also thanked the president of CAF and the delegation accompanying him. He recognizes 

that Cameroon is mobilized in an exceptional way to bring together the optimal conditions for the organization of this important event.

Faced with unfavorable climatic conditions during the period initially fixed, and after hearing the various arguments expressed, in particular those of those responsible for meteorology in Cameroon, and representatives of coaches and players, the CAN Organizing Committee which received mandate of the CAF Executive Committee to decide, acceded favorably to the holding of Can 2021 from January 9 to February 6, 2021. In close collaboration with the Cocan, CAF will set up a Monitoring Committee in order to carry out the preparations for this important competition. 

Instead of the period from June to July, the CAN will therefore be played between January and February. “We shifted, for various reasons. And I think that the majority of people today understand what CAF and the authorities of this country want to have. All this thanks to His Excellency, the President of the Republic, Paul Biya, who firmly reassured me that he wants to offer his people a beautiful CAN ”, declared the President of CAF. On January 15, CAF therefore formalized the organization of the competition by Cameroon over a new period. 

In the field of construction and rehabilitation of sports infrastructure, the Reunification stadiums from Bepanda to Douala, Limbe, Bafoussam and Garoua are looking great. Equally, the ultra-modern Japoma stadium (50,000 seats) is ready to host competitions. For that of Olembe in Yaoundé, whose construction has been taken over by the company Magil Cameroon, to the detriment of the Italian Piccini, it will be delivered next June. The only problems relate to access roads to certain access roads, the work of which is continuing calmly. 

In the meantime, the CHAN 2020 mascot and anthem, scheduled for next April in Cameroon, have been adopted by the Caf and presented to the public during an official ceremony organized in Yaoundé.
