EMIA: Paul Biya to attend the 37th promotion triumph ceremony

According to credible sources, President Paul Biya will preside over the triumph of officers of the Joint Military School (EMIA) in the promotion of General Jacob Kodji, a former resident of this institution who marked the spirits with his bravery. The headquarters of the headquarters brigade in Yaoundé will serve as the setting for this solemn moment.

For many observers, it is a resumption of activity of the Head of State in the Cameroonian capital through this event which has become a tradition. Thus, on January 24, 2020, Paul Biya is expected at the Court of Honor of the Brigade of the headquarters for the solemn ceremony of triumph of the 37th promotion of the students of the EMIA, promotion baptized in the name of general Jacob Kodji.

It should be noted that, this promotion of the Joint Military School of Yaoundé was composed of 257 students at the start in 2018. We learn that it was the President of the Republic who would have chosen the name of the promotion as in the previous promotions and as prescribed by the rules of art.

By this logic, the extent of the homage paid to the late General Jacob Kodji can be clearly seen. We also remember that he passed from life to death on January 22, 2017 in a helicopter accident, while he was at the front of the fight against Boko Haram in the Extreme region. North.

The announced exit from this 37th promotion of EMIA will undoubtedly strengthen the strength of the Cameroonian defense forces on the ground. This is all the more expected as the country has been facing terrorist attacks in the Far North for a few years, and more recent still in the two English-speaking regions with the persistence of attacks perpetrated by separatist Ambazonian fighters, despite Government efforts to resolve the crisis in this part of the country.
