Breaking: the US might likely be going to war with Iran and Iran as Donald Trump ordered airstrike that killed Iranian Major-General Qassem Soleimani and Iraq's Abu Mahdi Muhandis

The United States air strike on Thursday killed Iran's high profile Major-General Qassem Soleimani and Iraqi militia commander Abu Mahdi Muhandis on their convoy in Baghdad airport.

According to reports given by a security officer, not less than seven people were killed in the attack on the airport which he described as an airstrike.

The Iraq’s Security Media Cell had earlier released information in the respect of Iraqi security, stated that Katyusha rockets landed near the airport’s cargo hall, killing several people and setting two cars on fire.

It was not clear immediately who has fired the missile or rockets or who was their target. And the US never issue statement immediately after the attack. No immediate comment from the U.S. after that attack.

President Trump has ordered about 750 U.S. soldiers deployed to the Middle East following the two-day embassy attack which finally ended on Wednesday.

The United States worries after a New Year’s Eve attack by Iran-backed militias on the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad.

“The game has changed,” Defense Secretary Mark Esper said Thursday, telling reporters that violent acts by Iran-backed Shiite militias in Iraq — including the rocket attack on Dec. 27 that killed one American — will be met with U.S. military force.

He explained that the Iraqi government has fallen short of its obligation to defend its American partner in the attack on the U.S. embassy.

In a statement, the Iran-backed militias reported that American and Israeli have killed the mujahideen Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis and Qassem Soleimani.

"The American and Israeli enemy is responsible for killing the mujahideen Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis and Qassem Soleimani," statement by Ahmed al-Assadi, a spokesman for Iraq's Popular Mobilisation Forces umbrella grouping of Iran-backed militias.
