Breaking: Tunisian Prime Minister Habib Jemli resigns

Tunisian Prime Minister Habib Jemli has announced that he has resigned from President Kaïs Saïed after Parliament rejected the new Tunisian government on Friday evening, made up of conservative and independent ministers.

Despite the support of the conservative Ennahda party, the majority in Parliament, the new conservative and independent President, Kaïs Saïed, failed to gain the confidence of the Tunisian Parliament. Should he turn to a coalition with the secular-liberal Tahia Tounes, the second political force in Parliament?

For the moment, Kaïs Saïed, conservative and independent (without political party), refuses any alliance with the secular party, resulting from the preceding Tunisian President, but the time presses and could turn against him, whereas Tunisia still has no government three months after the 2019 presidential elections.
