Paul Biya Salutes the patriotism of Patrick Ekema

Paul Biya the President of the Republic wanted to honor Patrick Ekema Esunge, the former Mayor of the Municipality of Buea. He made read during his funeral which took place from December 13 to 14, 2019, a message in which he makes known all the good he thinks of Ekema Esunge. What we take away from this message is that, Paul Biya considers the ex-Mayor of Buea as "a great patriot who has rendered enormous services to his country". And to follow the thought by the act, in his name, the deceased was posthumously decorated with a medal of Commander of the order of value. He was buried on Saturday December 14 in the town under his command, Buea. As a reminder, Patrick Ekema Esunge died on October 27, 2019 in Douala from illness.

His actions aimed at fighting the ideology of the secessionists were noticed until the top of the state. The former mayor fought hard in the town of Buea. He was rigorously opposed to the dead city operation advocated by the separatists. He has repeatedly called on people to disobey secessionists. He sometimes forced them to stand up to them. Patrick Ekema did not hesitate to take measures to punish all those who observed the ghost town. He sometimes sealed the shops of some traders who had closed them during the days of the dead city. He gave fuel as a reward to motorcycle taxi drivers who had not stopped doing their work in the ghost town.

Before the funeral was held, rumors were that the Ambazonians planned to disturb them.
