Kano State Government is ready to place a ban on male and female passengers on board same commercial tricycles stating from January.

The information was released to the public by the state commissioner for Information, Mohammed Garba on Thursday, in accordance to Sharia law.

This move would prevent the temptation to indulge in immorality, he added.

Sheik Haruna Sani who is the Commander-General of Kano State Hisbah Board said the action became necessary to address the disregard of Islamic laws by commercial drivers, mainly tricycle operators in the name of carrying out their businesses.
