Far North: Kolofata Brigade Commander committed suicide!

According to our information, the Chief Warrant Officer Assoulaï Alakaï was found dead last Friday in the toilets of his home in Mora, chief town of Mayo - Sava department, Far North Cameroon region).

The gendarmerie brigade of Kolofata (a district of Mayo - Sava in the Far North region) no longer has a brigade commander.

Since last Friday, the senior non-commissioned officer in charge of this military unit, is no more.

Chief Warrant Officer Assoulai Alakai, learns your newspaper, committed suicide at his home. The gendarme informs us of a security source, shot himself in the head, in the toilets. The late brigade commander lived in the city of Mora, rather than Kolofata, a Cameroonian town bordering Nigeria, where the Nigerian sect Boko Haram is causing death.

Testimonies collected from the neighbors of the senior non-commissioned officer suggest that Friday, November 29, the day he committed suicide, he had a violent dispute with his wife, a few hours before.

The choice of the commander of the Kolofata gendarmerie brigade to live in Mora, it is said, was linked to security reasons. Kolofata being one of the frequent targets of the Boko Haram barbarians.
