Etoudi: Cameroon Anxiously In Wait For The New Year Eve Massage Of The Head Of State To Cameroonians

The President of the Republic of Cameroon, Paul Biya will talk to the nation in a traditional new year eve address this Tuesday December 31, 2019.

Cameroonians of all walks of life are eager in wait for any major declarations that may be made by Paul Biya.

Different class of people have even gone ahead to give their views or suggest the content of the presidential speech.

Top opinion holds that the presidential speech will centre around solutions to end the crisis in the North West and South West regions.

George Wirsiy a municipal councillor says he hopes the President gives instructions to parliament to start the effective implementation of the proposals of the Major National Dialogue (MND).

“Paul Biya has recently signed some decrees approving some of the proposals of the major national dialogue. The President should tell us more on exactly what will be implemented as resolutions of the Major National Dialogue.”

Veronica Ajum a teacher in the North region wants the President to explain what the special status clause from the Major National Dialogue proposals is all about.

“After the MND, we learned that the two English speaking regions will be placed under a special status. Since then, nothing has been changed. I will like the president to help us understand what the special status really is.”

Eyong Derrick an internationally displaced person in Yaoundé says he hopes the president makes declarations that will help bring back peace to the two restive regions so that he could go back home.

James Tchaffack, a Cameroonian resident in France says he wishes Paul Biya gives an approval to the dual nationality proposal of the MND.

The nation is anxiously in wait until the the President, Paul Biya talks to the nation this Tuesday December 31, 2019.
