Beti Assomo Installs Military General Officers Into Various Positions

The Minister Delegate to the Presidency in charge of Defense, Beti Assomo Joseph installed general officers in the 3rd and 4th Joint Military Regions and Gendarmerie Regions on December 13 and 14, 2019 in Garoua and Maroua.

These installations began in the Far North with the taking of command of Major General Saly Mohamadou as commander of the 4th Joint Military Region, followed by Brigadier General Jules Cesar Essoh as commander of the 4th Gendarmerie Region.

In its speech for the occasion, MINDEF urged the newly installed military leaders to work in perfect harmony with the population, the administration and the local authorities, as well as with the other components of the Defense and Security Forces. This in a precarious security context marked by the regular incursions of the Islamist sect Boko Haram, organized gangsterism and many other exogenous factors.

After the 4th Joint Military Region, the Minister Delegate to the Presidency in charge of Defense continued his installation tour in the North region, precisely in Garoua, where he installed the Commander of the 3rd Joint Military Region, General de Brigade Agha Robinson Ndong and the Commander of the 3rd Gendarmerie Region, Brigadier General Louba Zal Pierre. Here too, MINDEF called on officials in place to work in synergy so as to be able to get out of the cycle of kidnappings with ransom demands, organized crime, cross-border crime and theft of livestock. Threats that endanger the peace and tranquility of the region.
