University of Yaoundé I: The lifting of the suspension of Prof Jean Babeheck

The teacher at the Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University of Yaounde 1, was suspended for "insubordination and violent acts".

According to Gazeti, 237 the rector of the University of Yaounde 1 signed on October 24 a certificate of resumption of service in favor of Professor Jean Bahebeck.

The document indicating that the teacher is supposed to have resumed classes on October 7 comes a few weeks after Rector Maurice Aurélien SOSSO received the professor of surgery at the Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences of the University of Yaoundé 1 , notes the information platform.

If the minister of higher education who suspended Professor Jean Bahebeck on 4 June 2016 for "insubordination and acts of violence" has not yet signed a note ending the sanction, the rector's decision is perceived by observers as an act of relaxation of the relations with the teacher, mentions our confreres.

For the record, it was in June 2016, that Jacques Fame Ndongo the Minister of Higher Education, had made public a decision that suspended for four years, the lecturer at the University of Yaounde.

The reason for this suspension contained in the Minister's decision is insubordination and violent behavior: acts constituting an infringement of university ethics, dignity and deontology. Prof. Bahebeck had brought a fair amount of legal action.
