Cameroon: France releases 41 billion euros for reconstruction of Anglophone regions

France have released the sum of Sixty-two million euros (62 million euros) total of 41 billion CFA francs through Jean Yves Le Drian to the Cameroonian government.

This large amount of money which according to him is to be used in supporting the special status of the English-speaking regions, the reconstruction of the North-West regions in support of decentralization.

This gesture came in following the visit of the French Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs to Cameroon, Jean Yves Le Drian. He also assisted the Cameroonian government with another sum of 30 billion CFA francs to help in the fight against Boko Haram sector tormenting the far North region of Cameroon.

Recall that the special status of the English-speaking region was introduced during the National Dialogue which took place in Yaoundé from September 30th to October 4th, 2019.

However, the Ambazonian leaders have rejected this so-called special status of  English-speaking regions as they continue the fight for independence of Ambazonia.
