North West: Adolphe Lele Lafrique escapes death while his convoy was attacked

Fortunately this attack of the convoy of governor of the North-West region, Adolphe Lele Lafrique did not make a victim.

The latter, accompanied by a strong military escort in this conflict zone, went to Fundong, Department of Boyo in the Northwest region, where he planned to donate to the people.

This is how his convoy was attacked both on the way home and back, we talk about exchanges of fire that lasted nearly 10 hours of time.

In this zone, since the beginning of the conflict at the end of 2016, fighting regularly pits the security forces against groups of armed separatists who, hidden in the forest, attack the symbols of the State and multiply the kidnappings. The separatists have threatened in recent weeks to attack parents who send their children to school, they even initiated three weeks of "dead city"

According to the UN, 437,000 people have been displaced by the conflict in English-speaking areas, and more than 32,000 have fled to neighboring Nigeria

According to Unicef, more than 4,400 schools have closed in these areas due to insecurity. That is 609 thousand children who are thus deprived of education specifies the same source

A number of Cameroonians have fled violence and fighting between secessionists and the army to Nigeria, according to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. The NGO International Crisis estimates that at least 1,850 people were killed after 20 months of fighting.
