'If US soldiers should land in Cameroon, they will regret it' Kani warns

Banda Kani warns the United States in their plan to destabilize Cameroon.

During his speech on the pan-African television channel Afrique Media, President Banda Kani rebelled with extreme rage against an attempt to destabilize Cameroon by the Americans.

Relations seemingly degrade between Washington and Yaounde. For the first time, and at the request of the United States, the separatist conflict in the two English-speaking regions was discussed at the United Nations on May 13. The Cameroonian authorities fear that the situation will escape further, and open the doors to intervention.

US Deputy Secretary of State for African Affairs Tibor Nagy said the United States is deeply concerned about the crisis. Speaking to the Foreign Affairs Committee of the US House of Representatives on Thursday, May 16th, Tibor Nagy made it clear that sanctions are now on the table.According to Afrique M├ędia, the United States has asked Amnesty International to bring Cameroonian President Paul Biya to the ICC.

The panelist Banda Kani believes for his part that the crisis and its regulation are internal affairs of Cameroon. Moreover, the former national president of the political party MANIDEM intends to defend the unity and integrity of Cameroon in the event of a US military intervention, even at the cost of his life.

"If the US makes the mistake of pointing their army in Cameroon, they will regret their whole lives," he warns. "We are going to crush those soldiers like flies. They confuse us with Iraq. That they try, I myself will take up arms for the maquis and we will start on those who wish to reach them here, "he adds.
