URGENT: Another football coach kidnapped in Bamenda

The head coach of the Bamenda PWD club, Augustin Choupo, was kidnapped this morning in the northwestern capital by unidentified gunmen.

Sources say he was kidnapped this morning on the training ground as he prepared his team for this week's Ligue 1 match against New Stars Douala.

The club has not yet made an official statement about the kidnapping, but sources said the security forces have already started research.

Augustin Choupo, who replaced Jean Baptiste Toguem a little over a week ago as PWD Bamenda's head coach, revived the club's hopes of survival with a victory last Sunday against the Douala Union.

He is the second coach to be kidnapped in Bamenda in less than a month. Former YOSA coach Emmanuel Ndoumbe had also been kidnapped in March before being released.
