Okalia Bilai threatened traditional leaders who flee due to the Anglophone Crisis in South West region

Governor Okalia Bilai of the South West region has fired displaced leaders from the South West region who seek refuge in French-speaking areas to return to their chieftainship, failing which he will appoint new chiefs to replace them.

Speaking today Thursday, April 25, 2019 in the council room of the municipality of Buea, the governor warned all the leaders who abandoned their chieftaincy to return before May 20 or they will be replaced. To the present leaders, Governor Bilai warned that participation in National Day celebrations is mandatory and that any failure will have serious consequences. He added that leaders should encourage their subjects to participate massively.
