Bamenda: great disenchantment between the army and the Catholic Church

In an interview with the BBC, Reverend Father Humphrey Tatah Mbuy said it would take another generation for people to trust the military.

The communication director of the diocese of Bamenda, who spoke out over the armed conflict in the English-speaking regions of Cameroon, revealed that the soldiers had massacred individuals and burned their houses while the latter were not separatist fighters.

"Everywhere on planet Earth, the military response has never solved a problem, we will not be the first.

The more you kill innocent people, the more you radicalize their loved ones to join the secessionist fighters, "he said.
