Anglophone Crisis: Gendarmerie officer beheaded by separatists in Muyuka

From the body of Assana Adama, there are only a few beheaded parts at the edge of a road in the city of Muyuka, near a gutter.

This is the dismembered remains of the young gendarmerie officer serving in the same locality, accused of killing a 60-year-old on 3 April when he was alone at home and whom he accused of being in collusion. with secessionist armed groups.

The macabre discovery was made in the early hours of Wednesday (24/04/2019, Editor's note) and no group has yet claimed the assassination.

According to sources, Constable Constable Assana Adam, from the far north, was on a public transport bus to Kumba. He was abducted around 22 hours 30 minutes by people, then tortured, beheaded and dismembered in the early morning of Wednesday at Kwe Kwe - Muyuka.

Pieces of his body were scattered on the main road, causing panic among the residents who remained cloistered at home, fearing repression.

Sources say that soldiers came down on the scene yesterday to clear the road and take away the remains of the policeman's body.

It should be noted that in the English-speaking regions of Cameroon, clashes between law enforcement and armed groups have become almost daily.

More than 200 members of the Cameroonian defense and security forces have lost their lives in this conflict, as well as more than 500 civilians, according to the International Crisis Group.

The conflict, which has continued to grow, has already forced more than 437,000 people to flee their homes in these areas, according to the UN.
