A support of Paul Biya bounce the door and joins Cabral Libii

On March 29, 2019, Mr. Jean Marie Nouga, a lawyer at the Cameroon Bar, but above all elected city councilor under the colors of the Union of the Populations of Cameroon in 2013 in the commune of Matomb, Department of Nyong and Kellé, in the Region of Center, announced via its Facebook page its membership in the organization Eleven Million Citizens.

To justify what now appears to be his resignation from the UPC, Me Nouga writes in particular: "There is no less than the Union of the Populations of Cameroon in its current structure which did not give up the necessary elaboration of the strategies of popular mobilization for the benefit of various initiatives which aim only to see one of its leaders dubbed by an elite in power and receive thanks to this dubbing some personal prebends.

Beyond this criticism, it is necessary to perceive more in the decision of Mr. Nouga a desire to safeguard his elective mandate, or even more during the legislative and municipal elections theoretically planned for the second half of 2019.

As a political tactician, the lawyer who supported the candidacy of President Paul Biya to the presidential election of October 07, 2018 seems to have decided to follow the direction of the wind.

Indeed, Cabral Libii, National Coordinator of the Movement Eleven Million Citizens and candidate under the colors of the party Universe, came third in this election, according to official figures, obtained his best scores in the departments of Nyong and Kellé and the Sanaga Maritime, fiefs of the UPC where Me Nouga was elected.

The announcement by Cabral Libii, a native of Nyong and Kellé, nicknamed in these bastions of the UPC "the child of the village", the forthcoming launch of its own political formation called: the party of the Eleven Million Citizens in abbreviated "The "Citizens" whose constitutive general assembly was held on March 6, 2019, is a boon to those who want to join his organization in the perspective of the upcoming popular elections.

However after Me Nouga, it is quite possible that the UPC continues to lose militants in his stronghold in favor of the party Citizens. For the dazzling rise of Cabral Libii in the traditional strongholds of the historical party is at least partly related to the endless quarrels of leadership and a stinging disavowal by the militant base of the political choices of current leaders of the UPC regardless of trends.

Tired of these almost permanent internal struggles, some activists and supporters of the UPC are now turning to the "alternative", the party Eleven Million Citizens.
