'Minister Mebe Ngo'o is reported calm in Kondengui prison


Central Prison of Kondengui, this Tuesday, March 12, 2019, it is 12 pm. The entrance to the penitentiary is swarming with people. The prison guards posted there are on their teeth. Many people are waiting inside to visit their detainees here. The atmosphere is somewhat chilly.

Since the arrival on Friday 8 March 2019 of the former Minister of Defense, Edgard Alain Mebe Ngo'o, his wife, Bernadette Mebe Ngo'o and three co-defendants, the filtration device of the entries and exits has been strengthened. The CT team is received by the stage manager.

First of all, Frédy Armand Medjo denies all the information that has been circulating since Friday about the reception and living conditions of the Mebe Ngo'o couple in his penitentiary establishment. "The rumor of the attack of the accused at his arrival or his suicide attempt is therefore completely unfounded.

After, everyone has joined his cell, "said the ordinary places. On the health of Bernadette Mebe Ngo'o, the manager indicates that she was welcomed "here" after a stay in a hospital training. The prison doctor follows her and "if there is a need for further examination, he will advise". Edgard Alain Mebe Ngo'o is housed in Special District 14, while his wife stays in the women's quarters.

The detention of the Mebe Ngo'o spouses comes as a result of an investigation that took place at the Special Criminal Court (Tcs). On the grounds of the charge, nothing official filters. In addition to the Mebe Ngo'o couple, three other people: Lieutenant-Colonel Joel Mboutou (former defense attaché of Cameroon in Morocco), Maxime Mbangue (former technical adviser to Mindef) and Victor-Emmanuel Menye (former Dga Scb ) were also placed under a deposit warrant.

Edgard Alain Mebe Ngo'o has held high office in the government. He was successively Director of the Civil Cabinet of the Presidency of the Republic, Delegate General for National Security, Minister Delegate for the Presidency in charge of Defense and Minister of Transport. He left the government on March 2, 2018.
