Etoudi: this is how Tibor Nagy asks Biya to leave power

The US Secretary of State for Africa, Tibor Nagy met yesterday with the official President of the Republic of Cameroon, Mr. Paul Biya. During this meeting he gave him a present while receiving, as is customary for official visits to the palace of the king.

The present gift is a close-up of Paul Biya's early years in power. This is indeed a picture of him taken during one of his visits to the White House. You want to guess who is the white gentleman? Some people will want to think that it is about Tibor Nagy except that it is not him. This is the late President Herbert Walker Bush, when he was Vice President of the US under Reagan, that is to say between 1981 and 1989, date of his accession to power as president. The photo itself must date from 1982, when Paul Biya was appointed President of the Republic of Cameroon and 1989.

After him, Paul Biya has seen four American presidents, Bill Clinton (1993-2001), George W. Bush (2001-2008), Barack Obama (2008-2016) and Donald Trump, whose first term ends the year next.

A picture of Paul Biya with the 41st President of the United States handed over by Tibor Nagy who never liked it since in 1992, when he was Deputy Head of Mission at the US Embassy in Cameroon, he had supported with Frances Cook then ambassador, the victory of the candidate John Fru Ndi. It is also thanks to him that he was invited instead of Paul Biya to the inauguration of President Clinton in 1993. If Fru Ndi never became president of Cameroon in spite of that, it is because France who supports Paul Biya since he was 29 years had been able to coax.. what she can not do today with President-elect Maurice Kamto.

Tibor Nagy left Cameroon in 1993 for Kenya where he served as ambassador, then Equatorial Guinea. It was in May 2018 that he was appointed by Donald Trump to African Affairs ... And a few months later, Peter Barlerin, the current US Ambassador to Cameroon asked Paul Biya to think of a HONORABLE retreat.

This OSTE statement to the ROI-god of a SOVEREIGN REPUBLIC had earned him a few flushes of green wood to the point where the great PANAFRICANIST and POLITICAL MAN Banda KANI threatened to assassinate him on a television set.

Before arriving in Cameroon, Africa's Trump had announced the colors of his mission. On the set of France24 he had stated that it would be wise for President Biya to release Maurice Kamto IMMEDIATELY and the other political prisoners and to organize an inclusive dialogue. Three days before his disembarkation, the US State Department published a report on the post-election crisis in Cameroon, in which he issued DOUTES on the legality and legitimacy of the victory of Paul Biya, because of the jams ballot boxes and other irregularities observed.

Pressure way ?

The least that can be said about the entanglement of the different episodes is that the US who want to work much more with Cameroon in a serene climate do not carry the king anymore in their hearts.

Tibor Nagy's painting of Paul Biya is nothing more than an overwhelming gift of the cynicism of the man who was already challenging his victory in 1992. Is this another way of saying to Mr. Biya that it is time for him to put away memories of the past in a retirement home ??

Time will say. For now what I have to say is that Tibor Nagy is one of the last Americans with whom Mobutu had lunch with a smile. He had found it wise and intelligent.
