Ambazonia: 3 women killed as explosive devices is trapped on them

The remains of seven people are lying in the streets of Wum, Menchum Division of the North West Region, following a military raid yesterday.

According to eyewitnesses, four people (all men) were reported shot dead by the military and left at a roadside in Wum. Witnesses say that the soldiers allegedly placed explosives on the bodies of these four victims. Three women, taken pity, would have tried to recover the corpses to bury them.

It was then that the grenade exploded and instantly killed two of them instantly. The last woman who was seriously injured in the blast was rushed to hospital but could not survive the injuries.

Military raids in some villages had sent young men and old men into bushes and forests. In their absence, women are forced to dig the graves and bury the victims of regular clashes between the army and the secessionists.

Another case of grenade, implanted in a corpse, occurred earlier this week in Bamenda, where four people were trapped as they tried to remove these corpses from the street. It has been reported that two people are in a critical situation at the Bamenda Regional Hospital following the incident.
