"Sparrowhawk" is a vast operation of consolidation of public finances launched in 2006 by the Cameroonian authorities under the pressure of the donors to fight against corruption.

Since its launch, former Prime Ministers, Ministers and Secretaries-General of the Presidency, Directors General of public and para-public companies, executives and State agents have been arrested, tried and sometimes sentenced to heavy penalties. imprisonment for misappropriation of public funds.

Several institutions have been created to fight corruption. This is the case of the Anti-Corruption Commission (Conac) whose main mission is to fight against financial crime.
