Decentralization: Drama ahead the creation of a bank account for financing


In order to materialize the implementation of decentralization in Cameroon. Louis Paul Motaze Minister of Finance suggests to the government the creation of an escrow account to finance the decentralization.

At the observation, this measure aims at avoiding the accumulation by the Public Treasury, of the arrears of the transfers of funds to be made towards the local authorities decentralized.

For proof, we learn in the official statement that sanctioned the cabinet meeting of December 20, while we are at the end of the year, only the result of communal taxes in the first and second quarters was effectively transferred to decentralized local authorities, amounting to 37 billion CFA francs. However, during the year 2018, the Minister of Finance pointed out in his presentation, the sectoral ministries were able to transfer to the communes and urban communities, credits in the order of 150 billion CFA francs.
