Cameroon: Paul Biya defines new strategies in Etoudi

This committee also concerns the Boko Haram fighters and sounds like a new hand extended by Paul Biya towards the fighters who sow trouble in the north and the English-speaking regions of Cameroon.

The President of the Republic decided this Friday, November 30, the creation of a national committee disarmament of demobilization and reintegration of ex-combatants of Boko Haram and armed rebel groups of the North West and South West regions.

In a statement issued on November 30, the secretary general of the presidency said that, the creation of this committee by Paul Biya, "aims to provide a framework for the reception and social reintegration of the repented Boko Haram and members of armed groups regions of the northwest and southwest wanting to respond to the offer of peace formulated by the President of the Republic in his inaugural speech of November 6 by voluntarily depositing arms ".

The committee is under the authority of the Prime Minister and headed by a coordinator appointed by decree of the President of the Republic. It has regional centers in Bamenda, Buea, and Mora, in which demobilization disarmament and reintegration readiness operations will take place.

"In this regard, the Head of State calls on traditional and religious leaders and all people of good will to support the efforts of the administrative authorities in raising awareness among members of armed groups to seize this opportunity to return to the right path, "says the SGPR in its statement.

This decision by Paul Biya comes after the release of Maurice Kamto on November 27, calling for dead cities and "gigantic peaceful marches" to pressure Paul Biya in the resolution of the Anglophone crisis.
