Cameroon - CAN 2019: Cameroon will not appeal the CAF decision, but will instead work to organize the African Cup of Nations 2021

Cameroon will not appeal CAF's decision, but will instead work to organize the Africa Cup of Nations 2021. These are the main lessons from the COMIP-CAN meeting held Wednesday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Philemon Yang.

According to a member who took part in the proceedings, the government acknowledged that it would have been difficult, if not impossible, for Cameroon to be ready in time to organize the CAN 2019. However, as announced a few days ago by Issa Tchiroma , Spokesman of the government, the CAN worksites will continue at the same pace to be completed at the end of March 2019.

Another resolution, the government will make no communication to incriminate the African Football Confederation and its President Ahmad Ahmad . Cameroon also undertakes not to initiate proceedings at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to challenge the decision to withdraw CAN 2019.

Last but not least, Cameroon will take steps to accept CAF's offer to organize CAN 2021. In an interview with Afrique m├ędia on December 3, the CAF president said: "To arrange things in human ways, we said, let's move all the CAN ... We organize the CAN in Cameroon in 2021 and in 2023 we organize the CAN in Ivory Coast. This is the decision made by the Executive Committee , " said Ahmad.

An announcement immediately denounced by the Ivory Coast, including sports authorities immediately indicated that their country did not intend to give the organization of the 33 th edition of CAN.
