Ambazonia: France proposes a way out of the crisis

The French Ambassador in Cameroon made it clear at the end of an audience with the Head of State Paul Biya.

For Gilles Thibault, the force can not be a solution, "only the dialogue will solve the difficulties of these regions with other measures, including the humanitarian emergency plan and then the mobilization of all good will to arrive to peace. Peace is what all Cameroonians want, "he said.

Indeed, the situation in the English-speaking regions is worrying more and more the great powers. US Deputy Secretary of State for African Affairs Tibor Nagy said the United States is deeply concerned about the crisis.

"If no solution is found quickly, adds Tibor Nagy, we fear a radicalization in English-speaking areas that could increase support for extremists," he said.

Before adding "The United States calls for dialogue between the two parties, to find a compromise, such as some form of decentralization in the English-speaking areas. The country's constitution provides for some form of decentralization and a little more local control for each of its regions. But this Constitution is not fully implemented. I am very worried, and I fear that the situation will get worse if a solution is not found quickly. "
