Ambazonia: abducted Fon of Nso released

Fon de Nso, His Royal Highness Semh Mbinglo, returned to his palace on Sunday, December 2 after spending hours in captivity, sources said.

Indeed, the Fon de Nso had been abducted last Saturday, as well as six notables by armed men who had subsequently taken them to an unidentified place.

The situation provoked violent gunfire in Kumbo throughout the evening of Saturday night, angering the villagers who demanded the immediate release of their Fon.

After several pressure and negotiations from the sons and daughters of the Nso clan, the Fon was finally released early Sunday, and was received by his people on the village square.

This comes after the kidnapping and release of three Catholic missionaries in Muyuka, Fako County Department of the Southwest Region.

Fr Jude-Thaddeus Langeh Basebang, a Claretian missionary, deacon Placid Muntong and a student were all released Thursday after spending several days in captivity, said Father Bayemi, spokesman for the Cameroon National Episcopal Conference.

After their release, they were immediately taken to a medical center in Douala where they were placed under medical supervision.

Since the beginning of the Anglophone crisis, security and defense forces, teachers, traditional leaders, students and students have been repeatedly kidnapped.
