Afcon 2019 Withdrawal in Cameroon: Samuel Eto'o not found!

As in every action and project he has been responsible for, Pichichi Samuel Eto'o has failed in his bid to offer CAN 2019 in Cameroon. He arrived as a messiah, in the imbroglio that was the management of this competition which Cameroon obtained the rights in 2014. Having backed Ahmad Ahmad's candidacy to the presidency of the CAF at the expense of that from his compatriot Hayatou, he was offered a mandate of choice from the President of the Republic of Cameroon.

It is therefore with this mandate that the former captain of Cameroon will move wherever he may be, officially to work for the candidacy of Cameroon, but informally to advance his own files.

When he asks and obtains from Ahmad Ahmad to accompany him during his audience with the President of the Republic, Paul Biya, while he has no no time participated in making this meeting possible. The former player of Real Madrid and Chelsea, the first Cameroonian to have registered his name on a UEFA Champions League title, Gérémi Njitap, is the one who had fully worked and activated his networks to obtain a hearing of the strongman of the Cameroon. Eto'o positioned himself as the one who managed this meeting. And yet, he had a personal agenda.

He wanted the Head of State's anointing to undertake his projects, which still means the provision of a budget line and diplomatic and other facilities.

With this withdrawal of the CAN 2019 in Cameroon, the link between Ahmad Ahmad and Etienne Eto'o's father was therefore not as strong as we wanted to make us believe.

Since the withdrawal, Samuel Eto'o can not be found on social networks. No reaction from the football star, who was resolutely committed to offer this competition in Cameroon.
