Security Alert: Major airlines to suspend flights into and out of Yaoundé’s Nsimalen International Airport, U.S. Embassy in Cameroon warned


Major airlines are threatening to suspend flights into and out of Yaoundé’s Nsimalen International Airport starting November 15 due to a failure to come to agreement over security screening procedures with the Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority. No U.S. carriers fly into or out of Nsimalen International Airport.

Actions to Take:

Have travel documents up to date and easily accessible. Have a plan to travel to Douala if you need to undertake international travel. Monitor local media for updates. Arrange travel plans to mitigate risk of potential disruption.
