Peter Essoka accuses CRTV and Cameroon Tribune of favoring Paul Biya

The imbalance is huge! On 1 October 2018, the President of the National Communication Council (CNC) gave a press conference in Yaoundé on the media coverage of the election campaign in view of the presidential election on 7 October.Peter Essoka was asked to present a mid-term review of the campaign, the treatment of information in the national media.

One observation emerges: public service media give more space and time to candidate Paul Biya than to all other candidates. The CNC study reveals that CRTV radio and TV as well as Cameroon Tribune book on average triple the airtime and space in the columns of opposition candidates and their parties, the outgoing President and his party , the CPDM.
