Election 2018: the bishops invite the constitutional council to faithfully record the results of the ballot boxes

The episcopal conference has invited the body responsible for the promulgation of the results of the presidential election to be transparent when the results are announced in a few days.

It was in a statement signed by the president of the episcopal conference that the latter called the constitutional council, body responsible for the proclamation of the results of the poll to be faithfully reproduce the result of the ballot box.

While waiting for D-Day, the Bishops also invited the stakeholders to demonstrate maturity. "Let the victor be recognized and the loser acknowledge his defeat". said the group while lamenting too, its many irregularities that tainted the presidential election last Sunday.

The low level of participation in English-speaking areas in the grip of violence, the lack of names of some voters on the electoral lists and even worse the dismantling of a false electoral observation mission sent by Transparency International are among the irregularities have tainted the 2018 presidential election in Cameroon.
