Ambazonia: Fru Ndi's house burned and her sister kidnapped

One of the residences of John Fru Ndi, president of the SDF, the main opposition party in Cameroon, was burned by unidentified gunmen. The family home of the leader of the Social Democratic Front (SDF) in Cham, a neighborhood in his native Baba II village in the Mezam Division of the besieged North West region, was razed to the ground. Fru Ndi's little sister, Christy Akum, was also reportedly kidnapped on Wednesday, October 17, 2018.

Meanwhile, Ambazonian fighters in Mezam have denied the act, saying it was in no way related to them. Reports have recently echoed in the village of a group of young men terrorizing locals. On Sunday, October 14, 2018, Salifu Waziri, driver of Fru Ndi's driver, was shot in the leg by Cameroonian soldiers in Fish Pond, in the Food Market district, as he was returning home after dropping off the president. Bamenda, where they had just returned to the village. Reports indicate that Fru Ndi had just returned from Baba II where he had confronted the young men terrorizing the inhabitants.

The fire at his home and the kidnapping of his sister are not a surprise, said a source at National Telegraph. The million dollar question is; who sponsors these other groups of armed men who only steal and terrorize certain communities, unlike ordinary Ambazonian fighters who engage Cameroonian soldiers in armed fighting to defend their communities and guarantee the independence of what they now call Ambazonia ?
