Seraglio: Paul Biya and the safe of Belinga Eboutou in Etoudi [Jeune Afrique]

More than seven (7) months after his ouster from the Etoudi Palace, new revelations are emerging about the former Director of the Civil Cabinet of the Presidency of the Republic Martin Belinga Eboutou.

In its publication No 3009 this week, the French magazine Jeune Afrique reveals that Martin Belinga Eboutou has tried several times to access his safe in his office since his dismissal. Extract….

But what was hidden in the safe Martin Belinga Eboutou, installed in his former office to the presidency?

A good source in Yaoundé, we learn that after being sacked on March 2, from his position as director of the civil cabinet of President Paul Biya and replaced by Samuel Mvondo Ayolo, Belinga has tried several times to access his office in order to retrieve the content.

But, according to a common practice in Yaounde, the locks had been changed just after the announcement of the reshuffle on the radio. Informed of these attempts by his security director, Paul Biya ordered that the Belinga access badge be deactivated.

The person was staying in Geneva when he was informed of his dismissal by an aide-de-camp. The "technical president" (as he called himself) had then tried to rush back to Yaounde.

In vain: a snowstorm had caused the closure of the Geneva airport.
