Senate Speaker down with life threatening sickness, Marcel Niat Njifenji's life is now between alive and death in Europe hospital

The Senate Speaker is currently undergoing respiratory assistance in a hospital center in Europe.

He would follow care following a discomfort that occurred on September 15 after the official funeral of industrialist Joseph Kadji Defosso, according to Le Messager of Monday, September 24, 2018.

"The president was uncomfortable and prevented him from following the ceremony to the end. He had to find a sedative to reassemble it to drive it to an emergency in Yaoundé, "says a source quoted by the newspaper.

The same source indicates that once at his residence in Yaoundé, Marcel Niat Njifenji decided, after having informed and obtained from the Head of State who returned from China, an evacuation for Europe.

The Messenger indicates that since this incident, Niat Njifenji has not been seen in public. "An absence that justifies his silence on the latest events of the Democratic Rally of the Cameroonian People (CPDM), including the launch of the campaign he was to chair in his stronghold last weekend in Bangangté, in the Western region."

At the top of the state, measures would be taken to "make a mystery around this medical evacuation and not reveal the name of the hospital in which the patient was transferred," the tabloid writes.

Marcel Niat Njifenji, 84, is the first president of the Senate in Cameroon. He is an engineer and was a public corporation director, minister, deputy, mayor, farmer and festival promoter. Second personality of the Republic6, he will lead Cameroon in case of vacancy in the presidency, as provided by the constitution.

When he was appointed President of the Senate on April 12, 2018, for his second term of office, the native of Bangangté indicated that he would do everything for Paul Biya to be re-elected as President of the Republic. "It will be our absolute duty to ensure that he is reelected hands down," he said.
