The Mayor revealed that the plan to eliminate him was nurtured immediately after the launch of the CPDM campaigns at Mountain Hotel, Buea on Sunday, September 23, 2018.

“During the launch of our party campaigns at Mountain Hotel Buea last Sunday, I exposed certain truth about the South West elite, which angered them. Immediately after the gathering, they started planning my assassination. But God on my side, the assassination attempt was abortive”, the Mayor narrated to pressmen.

“I do not see why elites will come to launch campaign for our Presidential candidate and decides to stay in hotels. How do we effectively reach out to the electorates? Yet they called themselves party bigwigs”, Ekema lamented.

According to the Mayor, the above statements angered the elites thus the only solution was to eliminate him.

Patrick Ekema added that “The false alarm at Sawa Hotel was a ploy by CPDM elite to eliminate me. It was an attempt to assassinate the Mayor….it was not perpetrated by secessionists”.

The National Time learnt that an incident happened between the Cameroon military and the Mayor of Buea with his body guards at Sawa Hotel, Douala.
