English-speaking cities in blackout without electricity for 3 days

Three departments in the North West region of Cameroon have been out of power for more than 100 hours.

The city of Kumbo desert since last Monday. The locals are either indoors, in bushes or seeking refuge in other cities.

A villager told the journalist Mimi Mefo, very much in the English-speaking parts of the country, that "the departments of Ngoketunja, Bui and Donga Mantum now have more than 96 hours and more (three days) without electricity.

All businesses, banks are closed. The situation is all the more serious as the dead cities are prevalent in the big cities ".

To believe this source, "the department of Bui is now in a complete stop with MTN and ORANGE networks down.Communication is difficult because only the NEXTTEL network is still accessible, but we do not know for how long. "

"The lack of electricity has led to the use of gasoline to ignite the electric generators, now Kumbo is running out of gas because no transport vehicle enters or leaves Kumbo," admits the local.

The authorities of both the North-West region and Yaounde have not yet communicated on this blackout that could be a brake on the conduct of the next elections if it continues.
