Election 2018: The secessionists attack the meeting of the candidate Akere Muna in Limbe, South West Region of Cameroon

Before his Mega meeting on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at the Cicam stadium of Douala, in the Littoral Region, Akere Muna, one of the nine candidates for the highest office, went to Limbe, in the South West for a first meeting.

This popular gathering in the public square did not take place. And yet, traditional dance groups and candidate Muna's campaign orchestra had begun to warm the mood for 10 hours, before fleeing around 1 pm due to a secessionist attack.

"Ambazonian fighters have attacked supporters of candidate Akere Muna. In the face of threats, each activist took to his heels. Panic set in, forcing the Akere campaign team to cancel the meeting, "said a witness.

Finally, it is furtively that the candidate met some brave supporters at the local community of Limbe for a brief educational talk. "We decided to have a small meeting because there were troubles in Buea and Mutengene this morning. We killed around five, four people. So, all for us is not to make a meeting. It is also to ensure the protection of those who come. So I asked that we have a small meeting with those who are there, instead of a Mega meeting that can give rise to other troubles "explained the candidate of the party FPD in an interview with our colleagues in the CRTV Radio.

If the meeting with his supporters did not unfold as he wished, Akere Muna enters history as the first presidential candidate 2018 to hold an open-air public meeting in the English-speaking regions beset by Civil War.
