Central African government commends Cameroon's contribution to peacekeeping mission in his country

Cin | During a working visit to the Eastern Region, CAR's Minister of National Defense Marie Noëlle Koyara said that "Cameroon is a brother country that has always been with us during difficult times".

Marie Noëlle Koyara was at the head of a Central African delegation visiting the Eastern region, bordering with the CAR. The Central African Minister of National Defense particularly praised Cameroon's support to the Central African armed forces both in maintaining peace inside her country and at the border with Cameroon.

A contingent of 1,100 Cameroonian soldiers, including 750 soldiers and 350 gendarmes, have recently been sent to the Central African Republic (CAR) to help maintain peace in that country. It is within the framework of the United Nations Integrated Mission for Stabilization in Central Africa (Minusca).

According to Cameroon Tribune on Friday, September 14, 2018, the host of the governor Gregory Mvongo quoted among others: the support in formation of the Central African soldiers, the endowment in equipments and materials granted by the Cameroonian government. This favors the rise of Central African armed forces.

The governor of the Eastern Region said that the security situation between the two countries has improved significantly. Indeed, the Eastern region faces many security challenges due to the socio-political crisis in CAR. Thousands of Central African refugees have fled their country to settle in the East. The only city of Garoua-Boulaï has more than 80 thousand registered refugees in the Gado-Badzéré site.

While their leadership is provided by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and its partners, the government, with the help of friendly countries, spares no effort to ensure that these distressed brothers and feel at ease . But only, the Central African crisis finally touched the region of the rising sun.

However, the administrative authorities of the two countries and the high command multiply the meetings so that these attacks and threats to the safeguarding of peace and security in urban and rural areas are controlled. The sense of anticipation is in order and the various leaders have never failed to challenge people to trust and collaborate with the security forces and defense because security is everyone's business.
