Anglophone Crisis: The home of a CPDM member set ablaze in the Northwest region

File photo

The residence of CPDN deputy Njingum Musa Mbutoh was set on fire Sunday in Bamali (northwest region) by armed individuals. According to testimonies gathered, the assailants stormed the MP's home around 11 pm on Sunday before setting it on fire.

The parliamentarian who was on the scene at the time of the fire managed to flee, according to sources contacted by our editorial staff. For the moment, no loss in human life has yet been reported.

Difficult to pronounce on the identity of the authors of this act. Several witnesses, however, evoke the trail of secessionist fighters who have increased their attacks against CPDM militants in the region since the opening of the electoral campaign.

Last Saturday, six flaming party activists were kidnapped in Bamenda as they returned from a political rally. Three of the victims were Francophones and came from Yaoundé.
