A secessionist gendarme killed in the northwest


He was fighting alongside secessionist fighters in Ndop in the northwestern region of Cameroon. He was shot dead during an operation led by the Cameroonian army.

The Cameroonian army said it killed a former gendarme alongside a dozen separatist fighters in Ndop during a joint operation conducted by the army, the police and the national gendarmerie around Ndop, Bamessing and Bambalang on Tuesday. September 2018.

The army also claimed to have destroyed three separatist camps in the locations where the operations took place, while more than 31 locally manufactured firearms were seized, along with 19 ammunition, cell phones, national ID cards and food products.

The operation led by Lieutenant-Colonel Bella saw two wounded Cameroonian soldiers, but they were immediately evacuated for proper medical care.
