Southern Cameroonians rebuff Eto’o


English-speaking Cameroonians have condemned the international football star, Samuel Eto’o, plan to visit their troubled parts of the country.

The United Nations goodwill ambassador, Eto’o was due to spread messages of peace and encourage children to go back to school. He is a Francophone Cameroonian.

Hundreds of people have been killed and Thousands displaced during months of violence in English-speaking areas.

Anglophone separatists, known as Ambazonians, say they are marginalised by the French-speaking majority.
