Cameroon - Presidential 2018 "The CPP will vote neither for Kamto nor for another" says Kah Walla

CIN| In the interview published in the May 31, 2018 to June 3, 2018 edition of the journal Défis Actuels, Edith Kah Walla remains firm on her non-participation in the Presidential election to be held this year. " This decision was sealed on March 3, 2018 at a national council of our party. The CPP will not participate in the presidential election or the legislative and municipal elections in the current context. This position was just recently reiterated during our solidarity visit to the North West populations. This is not a renunciation because we had never considered a candidacy. And more than ever we remain determined to act to achieve the much-desired system change. The CPP firmly believes in elections as a method of gaining power and ensuring alternation in a democracy. Our decision not to participate in elections in the context of current chaos is the very proof of the CPP's commitment to free and transparent elections . "

Regarding the feasibility of the coalition project carried by the opposition political parties, Edith Kak Walla says it is achievable. However everything will depend on the object or objectives proposed. " For example, at the CPP and Stand Up For Cameroon, we are working on a rally of patriots to achieve a democratic political transition. The others in this election year seek to build coalitions to come to power. What makes the latter difficult is above all a repressive political system and a very poor electoral system. There is also the passive between actors, the rear thoughts and the mutual doubts of each other and sometimes divergent conceptions , "she explains.
