Cameroon : Three Died In Suicide Bombing Attack Early Monday Morning In Kerawa, Mayo Sava

A suicide bombing took place in Kerawa, Mayo Sava Department, around 5:30 am Monday, December 11, 2017. According to security sources in the Far North, the attack resulted in a death toll of three dead including the suicide bomber. These sources also indicate that the young suicide bomber infiltrated among Muslim faithful who were leaving the mosque after the dawn prayer.

" The toll would be heavier if the suicide bomber was inside the mosque where Muslims gathered for prayer. The blast is actually collapse a section of the wall of the mosque on a woman, "said one of the witnesses of the said drama. The Kerawa Mosque, where the attack took place, was completely destroyed by the bomb.

The attack was not claimed as usual but bears the mark of Boko Haram, which regularly attacks villages in the Mayo Sava and Mayo Tsanaga particularly.

The Far North, affected by the violence at the peak of the insurgency in 2014-2015, had seen in recent weeks a gradual and fragile return to calm. But jihadist attacks have resumed in this border region of Nigeria and near the Mandara Mountains, where Boko Haram has several camps. That same Monday, military sources in the region report that a truck driver was kidnapped this December 11, 2017 in the locality of Dabanga on the national number one.
